Magic Organic Apothecary: Daily Cleansing Ritual

I’ve been a fan of MOA for a while now and always have a small pot of their Green Balm handy at all times. Green Balm is a multi-purpose healing balm which has become the answer to everything in our house. From chapped lips and insect bites, to heat rash and blisters, there is never a pot too far out of reach. So with this in mind, you can imagine my delight when I discovered it featured in MOA’s Daily Cleansing Ritual. Knowing how amazing it is as a natural healing balm, I couldn’t wait to get cleansing and put this pot of wonder to the test!

MOA are a British company who create natural products inspired by folklore and the English countryside. All their products are natural, organic, cruelty free and are vegan friendly. Their aim to keep things simple and show that less is certainly more when it comes to skin care.

The Cleaning Ritual contains a 50ml pot of multi-purpose Green Balm and a bamboo fibre cloth all wrapped up in a decorated brown cardboard tube.  The packaging is great and captures the simplistic and natural ethos of the company itself. As you have everything you need for the perfect cleansing routine, this would make a great introduction for anyone wanting to try more natural products or as a gift to a beauty enthusiast!

The balm itself is very smooth and just melts with the warmth of your hands. This makes cleansing a breeze and as you simply massage a small amount into the skin and wipe away with the damp cloth. Due to the properties of Green Balm, it not only removes any excess oils from the skin but it only maintains moisture levels and prevents the skin from drying out. This makes it perfect for all skin types, including very sensitive and problematic skin. For make-up removal, it shifts even the most stubborn mascara (Chanel Le Volume De Chanel) and waterproof eye liner (Illamasqua precision ink). I also found that my eyes didn’t sting or cloud over at all! After use, my skin felt soft and smooth and I didn’t experience any dry patches or tightening of the skin. My usually dry eyelids felt hydrated and had a lovely sheen over them which lasted for a good few hours after taking my make-up off.

Now using a Bamboo Fibre cloth is new for me as I always use a muslin cloth or cotton wool to remove my make-up. Bamboo Fibre is naturally anti-bacterial and is one of the most eco-friendly materials in the world. This particular cloth has a slightly rough side which gently exfoliates the skin and a softer side which is great when steaming/toning your face after cleansing.

I have to say that i’m in love with the MOA Cleansing Ritual and can’t believe i’ve never cleansed with Green Balm before! If you’re looking for a product which is great value for money and doesn’t disappoint then MOA’s Green Balm is certainly the product for you. Their cleansing ritual proves that natural products can achieve great results without breaking the bank and as it’s so versatile, you probably won’t be able to live without it!
