Angela Langford Skincare – Sample Service

We can all agree that there is nothing better than receiving samples and getting the opportunity to try before you buy. Yet, in most cases, the samples we receive aren’t tailored to our personal skin types, so actually tell us more about products we shouldn’t use as opposed to products we should. So you can imagine my delight when I was browsing online and saw that Angela Langford Skincare offer a sample service based specifically on your own skin concerns and problem areas; all you have to do is pay postage!

Angela Langford skincare was born out of one woman’s determination to create organic, natural and cruelty free products designed for sensitive skin. Since the brand launched five years ago, the company has gone from strength to strength and has helped hundreds of customers get the skin they’ve always dreamed of.

whole-box

As well as my samples, I received a personalised letter, product information cards, a 15% off voucher code and a recipe card (you might remember Angela as a finalist on Masterchef in 2014). The sample service itself, from the packaging to the personalised letter, feels special. It is certainly one of the best sample packages I’ve come across as it clearly shows that the brand has a strong passion for all things skincare.

sweet-cheeks

The first item in my bag was Sweet Cheeks, a non-foaming cleanser which soothes, calms and balances any skin type. As it is non-foaming, it doesn’t strip any oils from the skin, which is perfect for my dry and eczema-prone skin. After the first use, I already knew this was an amazing product. My face felt softer and fresher, and despite using it as a face wash, my skin wasn’t tight at all. With continued daily use, my skin looked more radiant and actually felt clean. I didn’t experience any eczema outbreaks and my rosacea on my cheeks was greatly improved.

freshen-up

The next item was Freshen Up, which is an incredibly versatile product. You can either use this as a toner, a hydrating spritz or as an invigorating spray to awaken the senses. As a dry skin sufferer, and due to the central heating and winter weather conditions, my skin really suffers at this time of year. However, I have to say that this spray made a big difference to me, especially when I was out and about Christmas shopping (hot shops + dry skin =unhappy, flaky face!). A quick spritz and my skin was soothed, hydrated and refreshed. It absorbed quickly on the skin and it didn’t affect my make-up either, so I was very happy!

perfect-pores

Now you know how much I love a good facial serum and I was delighted when Perfect Pores was also included in my sample pack.  The serum itself is quite thick and sticky yet doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and absorbs really well.  I have open pores and sometimes when my rosacea is bad, they are quite noticeable. Perfect Pores is designed to reduce the appearance of pores, and despite being incredibly sceptical as to whether it would actually work, I am pleased to announce that it did! After around 4 days, my pores looked smaller and my skin was smoother and felt silky to the touch. My skin’s moisture levels were greatly improved, due to the serum containing hyaluronic acid, and it smells amazing! This was probably my favourite product from all the samples as I have never used a product which noticeably changed the appearance of my skin in such a short space of time.

The final product in my sample pack was the Bloom and Glow Face Oil. I’m a big fan of face oils, and this one was perfectly light on the skin and didn’t feel too greasy. It absorbed nicely and didn’t leave a residue or film on the skin like some other oils I’ve tried in the past. After using at bedtime, my skin looked fresh, hydrated and ready for the next day!
